How Oat Bran Taught Me About Good Social Media Content

Content, Content, Content...by now you know that great posts on your blog or any social media channel are all about good content.  To determine what is good content, I suggest you answer one question:

Will my audience find value in my post?

When I first started on social media I discovered a mom blog titled Heather Eats Almond Butter.  I loved all of Heather's posts but one topic that Heather returned to again and again was her love of oat bran.  Heather could do things to oat bran that few could imagine.  She would take fantastic pictures of her oat bran concoctions.  Oat Bran was the base for meals of breakfast, lunch, and dinner and even dessert.  I was fascinated, riveted, motivated...to make oat bran.

Heather's oat bran posts brought me back to her blog again and again. I found real value in Heather's posts. Eventually, I reached out to Heather to ask her to review my book, It Gets Easier and Other Lies We Tell New Mothers.  We would email about stuff, share tips, and discuss guest blogging.

Good content that your audience can use again and again will bring them back to you again and again.

Here is Heather's Oat Bran 101 post.

Oh, and what did I have for breakfast today?  Oat Bran, of course, that picture is mine!
